This spacious self-catering apartment offers stunning ceiling to floor sea views with a balcony for unrestricted enjoyment of the Morgan’s Bay cliffs and the breaking Indian Ocean waves.
Ideal for families or two couples, both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and there is a large fully-equipped kitchen
and built-in braai on the balcony.
The Mitford is centrally situated “on the sea” within a short stroll of the main beach and lagoon. It is also a pleasant walk up to the breath-taking view on the cliffs.
Savuka is a lovely, breezy sea-facing unit on the upper floor of the Mitford. It is a Bed & Breakfast Family unit, sleeping 4,
with King-size bed in the sea-facing Main bedroom and
2 single beds in the separate adjoining-room alcove.
There is a full-bathroom in the unit with both a shower and a bath.
The room includes a tea & coffee station, with a bar fridge, small microwave, fan, TV and Wi-Fi.
The views from the bedroom encompass the breaking waves and
wide expanse of the Indian Ocean to the majestic, lofty cliffs
– a mere stroll from your lodging.

Dela is a light, welcoming apartment with a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean and majestic Morgan’s Bay cliffs. The waves break on the rocks below, and the beach is an easy stroll away. The balcony with its sea breeze is a bonus for relaxing with refreshments.

The unit has a sea-facing Main bedroom and a separate adjoining-room alcove with 2 single beds. The bathroom has both a shower and a bath. There is a coffee & tea drinks station, a small microwave, a bar fridge, fan, TV and WiFi in the unit.

The beach and lagoon can be reached, on foot within a few minutes.
Double Mouth Nature Reserve is a few kilometres along the cliff road, and for most necessities the Top Shop, which is centrally located within the village, can be reached within minutes.
The Morgan’s Bay cliffs are a quick walk from your unit with breath-taking vistas of foaming sea meeting sand and rocks.
East London is about 90kms south of Morgan’s Bay, with an airport, hospitals and shopping facilities in the city.

A Bit of Background...
Life is indeed strange. Did we think 10 years ago that we would enjoy the pleasure and blessing of owning 3 suites at the former Mitford Hotel? No….. but when it happened, “The Crossing (Osiyeza)’’, that well-loved song by Johnny Clegg came and planted itself in our hearts, and it became the name of our two-bedroomed unit.
Although this song emerged as a result of personal loss, it has the positive, affirming notion of pushing through and prevailing with the essence of life, continuity and memory illuminating the way.
The history of the Mitford Hotel is key to the feel and character of each of its rooms. The love, effort and sacrifice given by those who established it more than sixty years ago, is a precious heritage that we would love to promote and preserve.
Savuka – “Awake or rise up” – the picture beheld from that unit’s balcony invites your spirit to engage with the blue of the sky, the blue of the sea and the rugged green and earthy tones of those cliffs keeping watch over Morgan’s Bay.
The darling of our little trio, Dela- “wholeness; complete and satisfied” invokes our delight. Crashing waves and smooth rocks create a beckoning scene below, inviting exploration, adventure and reflection.
